Lauren Duddles

St. Charles School Board

Mother, mental health advocate, community organizer, and former teacher

As a longtime resident of St Charles, a mother of two, a mental health advocate, a community organizer, and a former teacher, I am inspired to run for School Board in St. Charles Community Unit School District 303.

I will use my experience, kindness, and inclusive mindset to provide support, advocacy, and strengthen an effective and efficient structure for our schools.

Expanding our Career Programs

Partner with local businesses to offer high-value apprenticeships and provide strong pathways to students choosing careers in the trades.

Priorities

Advocating for Mental Health

Prioritize students’ mental health by increasing mental health professionals at schools, and implementing a volunteer mental health team (made up of students and staff) to provide education and proactive care.

Focus on Equity, Inclusivity, & Belonging

Promote equity for all students, especially those with different abilities, backgrounds, and identities, establish inclusive practices for all students and faculty, and create a community where everyone can feel like they belong.

Support & Expand Compass

As a former alternative high school teacher, I understand the importance of accommodating the different ways students learn and thrive. Compass offers valuable alternative ways for students to learn and thrive.

Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency

Use creative solutions to solve problems and make sound investments in our schools while maintaining fiscal responsibility and transparency.

Improve Communication

Implement easy and meaningful ways for students, staff, and parents to regularly report to the board and continue the Listen, Learn, Return meetings.

Get Involved!

Let’s work together to make sure our community’s school board is focused on advocating for the education and well-being of all the children in our community. Sign up for updates on our campaign, volunteer opportunities, and election information. Together we can make a difference!
